Next blog post, I will have some DID YOU KNOW.... things. I still want people to follow along, so I have to keep our lives interesting. Tomorrow we will walk to the Bimini Bay Resort, we can shop and eat a lunch at a restaurant there. This is a more expensive place to stay. Looks like they have a nice beach there. Walking and keeping in shape is important!!
The following is supposedly a documented conversation between the USS Lincoln and a Canadian "vessel"....
Canadian: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.
Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
Americans: This is the captain of a U.S. Navy ship. I say again, divert your course.
Canadians: No, I say again you divert your course.
Americans: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I demand that you change your course 15 degrees north, I say again, that's one five degrees north, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

So sorry to hear that you are stranded in Bimini. We know how much you were looking forward to getting home. So close, yet so far!! We know you won't take chances and we appreciate that. We prefer to know that you are safe. Like you said .... make the best of it. We still constantly talk about our time with you and the natural beauty. Love Vicki and Doug
When we left you in Nassau, we made south Bimini that evening. The weather looked good the very next day and we took it. One of our best crossings!! The very next day, the winds and storms blew in and we were glad we had crossed when we did. We have "discovered" Sunset Bay Marina. What a lovely spot. Friday, we will move Steadfast over to River Forest. We're working like busy beavers getting the boat ready to leave for the season. Enjoy you last holiday. Ours ended too soon....as usual :)
